The Nikka Whisky Co
In 1918, a young Japanese man with an ambition to make genuine whisky went alone to Scotland to unveil the secret of whisky-making. He is Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky. Given the chance to go to Scotland, Masataka became the first Japanese ever to master how to make whisky. Nikkia Whisky boasts the most successful Japanese Whisky in Europe, Nikka From the Barrel. It is a blended whisky comprised of 60% Coffey Grain and 40% malts from Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. The whiskies are aged for an average of 10 years, blended, then married for 3-6 months in barrels and bottled straight from the barrel.
