Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 Red Wine 75cl has an intense, vivid purple colour with slight gradation at the rim. On the nose, the wine shows intense cassis, plum and classic cedar wood-cigar box notes with lifted dark fruit aromas. 

Meerlust Estate has been the pride of the Myburgh family since 1756. Today, the dedication to quality winemaking continues under the guidance of 8th generation, Hannes Myburgh. Cellar Master, Chris Williams, who has worked on the estate since 1995 has been in charge of winemaking since 2004. The name Meerlust means 'pleasure of the sea', as the property is situated 5km from False Bay (and 15km south of Stellenbosch), with the cooling influence of the coast, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly.

Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
The grapes were hand-picked and selected in the coolness of the morning. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured for 16 months in tight-grained French Nevers oak barrels, 60% new, 40% second passage.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and impressively structured. Intense blackcurrant and plum fruit bolstered by refined tannins and fresh natural acidity. The palate is rich and dense with a wonderful lacy tannic structure.
Pairs perfectly with roast meat, steaks and game.
